Mui Ne is one of the most attractive beaches to escape from Ho Chi Minh City. During our last trip to Vietnam we came to visit this beach town and we've stayed at Mui Ne Home hotel. If you’re for the place to stay in Mui Ne, check our review of Mui Ne Home hotel.

Our Room

We booked a Standard Double Room at Mui Ne Home for 2 nights. Mui Ne Home is a small hotel run by a Vietnamese family. The room we got was basic but air-conditioned. The bed was a little hard but completely fine to have a decent sleep.

The bathroom was clean and shower was okay. However, the whole building is outdated, not well-maintained and badly needed a repair. The hotel has potential as the location on the beachfront is great, but the hotel is not taken care of. Our room had a balcony but the big door separating it from the room was completely broken so we could hardly close the door after opening it, so the room’s balcony couldn’t be used normally. There was no daily cleaning of rooms so we didn't get our room cleaned up at all during our stay. Perhaps we needed to ask for it.

The building has large windows opening to the sea but they haven’t cleaned them for long. That’s a pity as the view would be amazing.

Breakfast

Breakfast wasn’t included in our room price so we didn’t order it additionally. The hotel has their own beachfront restaurant. We checked the price of breakfast sets and it was quite expensive so we ended up eating at local restaurant on another side of the street.

However, we decided to eat dinner at the restaurant of our hotel and we were absolutely delighted. The seafood was fresh and delicious.  In fact, it was the best meal we had in Mui Ne.

Location

The location of Mui Ne Home is central as it is located on the main road of the town. The hotel has a great location right on the beach. It really could not be any closer. However, there were concrete blocks instead of sand in front of the territory. During the high tide, it's impossible to swim or walk along the beach. It was just concrete but the view of the sea from the garden was really nice. There are plenty of restaurants within a walking distance, several tour operators and supermarket. Dong Vui Food Court is about 15-20 min walk away and Fairy Stream is just 20 minutes away.

Service

The staff was very friendly but it was a little bit hard to communicate because they were not available to assist at the lobby all the time. We liked the service attitude of the restaurant staff as they were happy to do everything and gave us a really relaxed night.

You can also get breakfast and rent a motorbike at the hotel to get to any further attractions and other beaches.

Room Price

The room price at Mui Ne Home starts from 435,000 VND per night. For this room, we believe that the price we paid was fair and reasonable although the room was a little dated and facilities were not very good. We had better rooms in Vietnam for less money, but can't really complain overall because of the location.

Our Rate: 7.5/10

We got an ordinary room. However, the location was good, at the beachfront, even if there was no real beach during our visit. Situation is better at the low tide as then you can actually to go the beach for swimming and soak up the sun in the hotel’s garden. The staff was friendly and they were very helpful. The place has a restaurant which is very handy as dining right by the sea was one of the highlights of this place.
