Our Room

We booked a Standard Double Room with Fan at MINE Hotel for 3 nights. The room we got seemed nice and pretty big at first sight. Full facilities needed for our short stay were provided.

The room was fitted with a flat-screen TV, fridge, a kettle, a bidet, a hairdryer and a wardrobe. We’ve got a fan room which is normally fine in Dalat as the temperature here is low and air-conditioning is not needed. The room had a private bathroom with a shower and free toiletries.

The bed and pillows were very comfortable. However, we found out that the linen wasn’t changed after other guests as someone’s hair and some stains could be spotted on the bed sheet.

Another downside of this room was the karaoke bar nearby as they kept singing out of tune until late night and it was a bit annoying. The view through the window is another story that is better seen than told.

Breakfast

Breakfast was not included in our room rate so we have no comment about it. However, finding a place to eat nearby is not a problem.

Location

MINE Hotel is located in a small alley on the opposite side of the road from Big C supermarket. The location is not very central but the main city market with all related food and shopping options is within 15-20 minutes of walking.

The hotel is situated not far from Lam Vien square and is a good place to base for visiting all parts of Dalat. The best part is that Dalat Airport shuttle bus parks around the corner of the hotel street so it is very convenient if you want to catch the bus to the airport. The bus to the airport costs only 40,000 VND per person per trip. There are also several taxis waiting around so getting one is not a problem.

Service

The staff was friendly but not really professional. They didn’t know any English to communicate effectively.

We didn't like the hotel policy to keep our passports for the duration of our stay as we got them back only at the check-out. On one hand it’s good because you can't lose your passport, but on the other hand leaving your passport in someone else's hands is risky.

Room Price

MINE Hotel room price starts from 450,000 VND per night. The price is affordable and reasonable for amenities of the room. The location was convenient and all facilities were good, except the subpar cleanliness.

Our Rate: 7/10

MINE Hotel got a high review score on booking website so we ended up staying there. We have stayed in several hotels during our month-long trip in Vietnam but this hotel was the one we least appreciated. The location is good but tucked away from the main attractions. The room was nice and fully furnished but we expected better quality as the cleanliness was an issue for us. This place could be really good with paying a bit more attention to cleaning.
