Standing tall in the center of Vientiane, the capital of Laos, the war monument called Patuxai, literally meaning Victory Gate, was built between 1957 and 1968.

Pho Zap is one of the most famous rice noodle soup shops not only Vientiane but in all Laos. There are 3 sizes of rice noodle soup at Pho Zap: PHO small (20,000 kip), PHO large (25,000 kip) and PHO jumbo (30,000 kip).

Thailand shares borders with Laos to the north and northeast.
