If you hold a passport from any of the countries listed below and your passport is valid for at least six months, you are eligible for a Free Visa-Exempt Stay in Thailand. Allowed lengths of stay vary by country and the type of entry (by air or by land), so check the list to see exactly what you are eligible for.

HOT NEWS! Thailand visa exemption giving the right to visit Thailand visa free for up to 30 days was recently granted to seven new countries. Starting from 14 April 2019, citizens of Latvia, Lithuania, Andorra, San Marino, Ukraine, the Maldives and Mauritius will no longer need to apply for Visa on Arrival but will be given visa free entry to Thailand.

Nationals entitled to a visa exemption (non ASEAN nations) are eligible to enter Thailand without visa through land border checkpoints only twice a calendar year. The entering through international airports is not affected by this regulation so if you are planning to enter Thailand more frequently – fly in or get a visa.

Required Documents

Passport issued by one of the countries above and valid for at least 6 months.

At the time of your arrival to Thailand, you will have to submit Thailand Arrival Card as well. Learn how to fill it here: Thailand Arrival Card – How to Fill Arrival Card Form.

Proof of funds for traveling - 10,000 THB per person or 20,000 THB per family in any currency (they rarely ask for it but it’s better to be ready).

Proof that you will be leaving Thailand within 30 days - tickets (requested in rare cases).

Extension of Stay in Thailand

Your visa free stay in Thailand can be extended once per entry. In most cases it can be extended by 30 days. For more information check: Thai Visa Extension.
