Dalat Railway Station was built by the French from 1932 to 1938, when this fascinating building was completed. The station has a unique architectural style characterized by the roof shaped like three pyramids.

Experience of Visiting Dalat Railway Station
Upon entering the premises of the train station, you will come across a security guard booth where you need to pay for an entrance ticket. During our visit, Dalat Railway Station entrance ticket cost just 5,000 VND (~0.21 USD) per person.
Then you just walk a little bit to find yourself right in front of the railway station building, boasting its unique architecture and long history. It is said that Dalat Railway Station is designed similar to those in southern France. The work is shaped in three spires similar to the three peaks of the legendary Langbiang Mountain. The combination of French architecture and local characteristics has created a distinctive beauty for the place.
Inside the building, there is a ticket counter and waiting lounge. If you wish to take a train, you can buy a train ticket from Dalat Railway Station to Trai Mai Railway.
Once you walk pass this area, just keep moving towards the platform. You will see an ancient train and a steam locomotive. The train is just parked here as an attraction. Inside the train, there is a very unique café but it was closed when we were there.
Around the area, there are fields of hydrangeas in a variety of colors. These famous flowers are grown in many places both in the city center and suburbs so you can include visiting some of the most beautiful hydrangea flower gardens in Dalat.
After spending some time taking photos at scenic spots of the station, we just stopped by at Choco café, which is found right at the platform of the train station and is a great place to sip a cup of coffee while admiring the view.

Tourist Train Route Dalat - Trai Mat
Currently, Dalat Railway Station is no longer used for transportation purposes as before. The only route served by the railway station is the 7 km long route Dalat City - Trai Mat which takes visitors to explore the surroundings of Dalat and the mountain town in Trai Mat.
Taking this train is an attractive experience. You will be seated in old-fashioned wagons, passing through vegetable gardens of the countryside farms. During the blooming season, you will see beautiful scenery and colorful flowers along the way.
After reaching Trai Mat Railway Station, you can also visit Linh Phuoc Pagoda which is one of the most unique temples in Dalat. Linh Phuoc Pagoda is located only about 400 m from the station, so you can easily walk to this temple with a distinctive architecture.

Note that the train only runs when a minimum of 20 people have bought tickets so you might wait for another train on the less busy day.
