How to Check Your Viettel Phone Number in Vietnam

When traveling in Vietnam, you might use local SIM card for staying connected. Even if you are only going to use internet, knowing your phone number might be useful as you can give it for tour companies and other service providers to contact you when needed. If you will be using Viettel SIM card, find out how to check your Viettel phone number easily.

The last time we have been visiting Vietnam we’ve bought Vietnamese SIM card of local provider Viettel for staying constantly online and not overpaying for roaming that we normally use in Europe. As we were not planning to call to local numbers, we’ve opted for data-only plan and didn’t care much about knowing our phone number.

However, later we had to find it out and finding a solution online wasn’t easy as none of the codes found on the internet worked.

Unsuccessful solutions

As it was data-only plan, calling to another phone and checking caller ID wasn’t an option.

Entering the code *1# on the keyboard and pressing the call button didn’t work too.

Messaging TTTB to the number 1414 also failed.

So how did we finally find our Viettel phone number? The staff of travel agency we were planning to travel with helped us in this case.

Checking Viettel phone number

For finding out your Viettel phone number you need to dial the code *098# and press call button.

The pop-up form will show up on the screen of your phone and your Viettel phone number will be provided on the first line of it.

It worked for us well so give it a try if needed!
