Getting to Yogyakarta City from Yogyakarta Adisucipto International Airport (JOG)

Yogyakarta Adisucipto International Airport (JOG) lies to the northwest of the city, only about 10 km from central Yogyakarta (Indonesia). There are several options for reaching the city of Yogyakarta from the airport, as you can choose from taxi, bus and train services.

By Taxi

By Train

Yogyakarta Adisucipto International Airport (JOG) is connected with Maguwo train station (MGW). You can take a train from the airport to Yogyakarta station (YK), also known as Tugu station, which is conveniently located in the center of Yogyakarta. Train ticket price depends on train services used and varies from 8,000 to 20,000 IDR. Taking a train from the airport will help you to avoid traffic jams of the city but trains are not very frequent and you might need to wait just too long for the next train to come.

By Bus

The cheapest way to get from Yogyakarta Adisucipto International Airport (JOG) to central Yogyakarta is by taking TransJogja bus. The price of TransJogja bus ticket is only 3,600 IDR and you can reach any destination in the city. If there’s no direct route from the airport to your desired location, you will just need to change routes but it will still be much cheaper than taking taxi.

There’s also a Damri bus service at the airport bus these buses connect airport to other areas around Yogyakarta and are not useful if you want to reach the center of the city.
